Sound familiar?
You understand everything. Why are you silent in the meeting?
At the meeting
You say less than you think.
By the time you put together a sentence, the topic is gone.
At the presentation
It sounds learned.
No joke, no punchline, no you.
At the interview
You know what you want to say.
It just doesn't sound that strong in English.
You don't lack vocabulary. You lack practice in front of people.
All the great speakers were bad speakers at first.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Who is the Toastmasters Bratislava club for?
For people who speak English and want to sound more confident in it: at meetings, presentations, interviews and networking. Often these are people from international companies in Bratislava, foreigners also attend. The entire evening is in English.
Is this a language course?
No. No grammar, vocabulary or homework. You use English here: you perform, you improvise and you evaluate others. Grammarian will tell you what to correct at the end.
How is it different from conversation lessons or a business English course?
In class you talk to the lecturer. In our class in front of a group: prepared speech, improvisation, evaluation. You get feedback from several people and you also practice your performance.
How can I improve my English when I already have B2?
Use it in front of people. At B2 you don't lack vocabulary, but practice: speaking under pressure and responding without preparation. That's exactly what you practice in the club, with feedback.
When and where do you meet?
Every second Monday at 7:00 PM, live in Bratislava. You can find the location and program on the club's Facebook page.
How much does it cost?
As a guest it's free and you don't have to speak. A member pays a semi-annual fee, the current amount will be given to you at the club.
